  • To simulate an ancient runic globe, the “north pole” with concentric rings, above incised lines to denote the “gores,” and latitudinal riveted straps, faded diamond-shaped runes just north of the “equator” and elsewhere, and a prominent rune just south of it.

  • Fair, with pitting and rust, concentric rings at north pole slightly askew.

  • From the collection of Sir Frederick Montague; acquired during a scientific expedition in South America, 1905.
