  • The hinged lid, edges, and base reinforced with riveted metal binding, additional reinforcements at corners, simple clip enclosure to front, the box with overall designs of inked script and topographical pyrography suggesting an archipelago.

  • Stains and stable splits to wood, spots and small areas of rust to edges.

  • Belonging to Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II of Jaipur; acquired by Major General Lord Albert E. W. Ramsay in 1948.
