  • The frame edges of laminate construction, top, side and front panels with foliate carving which conceals the opening mechanism, with slightly projecting corner blocks and applied wooden bosses.

  • Laminate construction rather crude, weathering to wood, some repairs, feet added.

  • Purchased by Mr. Lionel F. Briggs at the Great Exhibition, London, 1851; by descent to his great-great-grandson, Mr. Nigel F. Briggs.
