  • The faux bois tortoiseshell painted copper lid with turned knop above a canted and carved cornice, above a box with four oil on copper panels of figural scenes attributed to the school of Jusepe de Ribera, all on a molded base.

  • Worn patina commensurate with age, panels intact and with scattered retouch.

  • From the collection of Madeleine Foster, Chicago, acquired on her travels to Morocco, 1927; by descent.
