  • Rough-hewn, with shallow paneled top having a stepped lower edge, above deeply paneled sides and facade, the latter incised with diagonal and geometric designs.

  • Pitting, cracks, and edge wear including old chips now worn smooth, all commensurate with age.

  • Originally from the collection of the Medici family, Florence; sold to Earl of Warwick, 19th century; by descent; acquired by a private American collector, 1985.
